For country singer Jason Owen and his now-wife, Bec Owen, their perfect day was tying the knot in Albert.
Mr and Mrs Owen initially planned on marrying last year but chose to postpone it due to the COVID-19 restrictions which had been in place.
On Saturday, June 5, the pair were able to celebrate with a traditional wedding held at a small church in Albert, drawing a crowd of 150 people.
"We were going to get married on the 21 of November last year, but we decided we wanted to have the day we want. We wanted to dance and socialise and we couldn't do that at that time," Mr Owen said.
"I grew up in Albert, I was the only child in the town for the first six years of my childhood and my family have lived there their entire lives. My great grandmother had put a lot of time, effort and money into the church we were married at.
"My father owns the petrol station there and my grandfather still lives there, but ironically, no one in the family had ever been married in Albert.
"It was just a very special thing for my family. I really wanted to get married in Albert and Becy understood that."
Mr Owen said it was good to also be able to use Central West businesses for their wedding, including Dubbo business Taylormade Weddings while the reception was held at Soul Depot Narromine.
