Dubbo Regional Council will host the forum and a wide range of stakeholders from the residential housing sector have been invited.
Real Estate Institute - Orana Division secretary Shayna Chapman said the REI would be represented at the forum by three senior property managers. They will detail the effects created by the shortage of rental accommodation in the last year.
The REI hopes the forum will be the start of addressing the undersupply of residential housing.
ALSO MAKING NEWS:
Dubbo mayor Stephen Lawrence is among those who has been pushing for the real estate forum. In March he called for council to look into the housing shortage.
On his list of requests was for council to identify any shortages of particular housing types and whether there is an appropriate business role for council in property development.
The forum will be held at the Dubbo RSL Club on June 11.
