State Member for Dubbo Dugald Saunders said council would receive $173,000 under the program, with the other $23,000 to be split between the provision of a heritage advisory service ($12,000) and a small grants program for local items ($11,000).
Mr Saunders said the funding for the Old Dubbo Gaol will be used on restoration and remedial works.

"As you would expect with a site that has such historical significance, there's a few things that need some work," he said.
"I have been very supportive of the work done by staff when it comes to remediation projects that not only ensure safety and stability but also ensure the Gaol keeps within the heritage guidelines."
The money will be used to repair rot in timber posts, roof frames and eaves, cracked and leaking storm water drains as well as completing the conservation of stone walls in three buildings within the Gaol precinct and the removal of sandstone pavers that have become damaged and cracked.
