The Dubbo Kangaroos have bounced back from a horror game last week with a 35-29 win over Orange City at No. 1 Oval on Saturday.

Without captain Hamish Gordon through injury, the already undermanned Roos were in for a tough match but struck early as fill-in skipper Jake Styles calming slotted a penalty goal to opening the scoring.
Orange hit back shortly after when Traye Hodge crossed for a try before Duncan Young converted to make it 7-3.
Eighteen-year-old debutant Dubbo winger Darcy Chewings soared above three Orange players to pluck a kick-off out of the air which led to a try for Pat Wheatley to hand the home side back the lead 10-7.
Orange hit back twice more before half-time through Josh Tremain and Keiran Bonin before Styles kicked a penalty goal to head into the break 19-13 to the visitors.
The two sides would go try for try to start the second half when Styles and Ben Knaggs crossed for Dubbo while Tremain scored his second of the day to leave the score 27-26 with 15 minutes left.
Dubbo winger Joseph Nash made a break down the short side before executing a brilliant flick pass to Styles to race away down the side line for his second try of the day to hand the home side a 32-26 lead.

Styles would again kick a penalty goal to stretch the lead but the game was far from over when Dubbo's Sam Gemmell was yellow carded for a high shot.
Young kicked the penalty goal before the two sides went error for error in the final minutes of the match as Dubbo held on for their third win of the 2021 season.
Post-game Styles was impressed with the home sides effort throughout the full 80 minutes while praising Chewings performance in his first game.
"Knew it was going to be a tough one, knew it was going to go down to the last minute like it did, they got us in Orange and we got them here so look forward to round three with them," he said.

"The kid's a freak, all season we've been waiting for someone to get up and be able to catch them kick-offs and he just stepped up to the plate and took it with two hands, he smashed it." he said.
After Gordon was ruled out, Styles admitted he wasn't phased about being handed the captaincy of the side for this match.
"It's not too bad, I don't mind the extra roles I've gotta play, it's good I don't mind it." he said.
