Harvest Hotels officially took over ownership and management of The Milestone Hotel Tuesday from the Blair family.
Harvest Hotels director Fraser Haughton said the pub had been on their radar for some time, so when the opportunity for them to acquire it arose, it was a no-brainer.
"It's a beautiful heritage pub," Mr Haughton said.
"We aim to operate the very best pubs in the best regional towns, and we are driven to creating an iconic experience for every patron that enters the doors of a Harvest Hotel, be them, locals or one-off visitors."
Mr Haughton said the handover went well.
Aside from a new general manager Scott Davies, the vast majority of staff remain, as will the pub's name.
Mr Davies, previously from Tamworth, was approached by Harvest Hotels, who he was already employed with, for the job.
"I'm really excited, it's a great opportunity," Mr Davies said.
Mr Haughton said Mr Davies was approached as part of Harvest Hotels' outlook to present opportunities to their workers to climb up the ladder within the company.
Aside from signage, superficial changes, a menu refresh and polishing up its great customer service, the pub will more or less remain as it is.
"The Blair family has done an outstanding job owning and operating The Milestone and we look forward to further building on this great venue and adding a few Harvest touches in the coming months and years," Mr Haughton said.
Plans of a refresh and development of the pub will continue to be on the cards in the future, however.
Patrons are being invited to go down to The Milestone Hotel to meet Mr Davies and say hi to the team.
"Come down and say g'day to our new manager, Scotty at The Milestone," Mr Haughton said.
"We look forward to meeting you all and having you join us for a beer, wine, meal, event or catch up with your mates soon."
