Homebrew event steward Shaun Doughty was one the lucky few able to taste and judge the beers on Wednesday afternoon.
"It was pretty good.
"We had 32 different beers to judge and that was from six or seven different entrants but they put a few beers in each category," he said.

"The grand champion brewed a ginger beer and it was absolutely amazing, like the aroma and everything was spot on, it was spot for what it was meant to be, the taste and mouth feel."
Doughty admitted he originally wanted to enter the competition but ended up becoming the main steward.
"I rang them up before last year's show before COVID and asked if they had a home brew comp and they said 'no, our steward has just pulled out but we are looking for someone' and I thought oh well I'd rather keep the homebrew going then just entering my own beers," he said.
Doughty also feels the COVID lockdown had some influence on the number of entrants in the competition.
"Yes and no, I think from the sounds of it when I spoke to people when they dropped their beers off, their friends that brew didn't know about the competition or just forgot about it and it seems to be a lot more people in Dubbo are brewing than we what we actually got," he said.
The Dubbo Show opened on Friday and will run across the weekend.
