Mr Rendell has spent his time driving, cooking and serving the community in a bid to raise funds for PCYC Dubbo.
Most recently, Mr Rendell operated the truck at the 2021 annual Dubbo Show on the weekend.
PCYC Dubbo club manager Emily Ross said Mr Rendell and his team are integral to what they do and what the PCYC stands for.
"Without the work he and his team do, we wouldn't be able to do the things we do," Mrs Ross said.
"We appreciate all of the work he does for us and with National Volunteer Week upon us, he deserves to have that recognition and thanks."
Mr Rendell, who was born, grew up and is still living in Dubbo, said volunteering has been something he has done his entire life.
"Way, way back I volunteered as a Scout leader and then through Rotary. When I retired from Rotary I started volunteering for the PCYC running the food van," he said.
Mr Rendell said volunteering is important to him as it is something every community needs.
"I don't drink or smoke. I enjoy young people. I like to see them achieve," he said.
"I just enjoy it. You don't even think you're volunteering, you just do it.
"We get tired and sometimes we struggle when there's just a few of us, but it's still really good."
Mr Rendell said the team of volunteers he works with is also important to him and without them, they wouldn't be able to do as much work as they do.
"We took the food truck out to Dubbo Speedway last Saturday night.
"Then we dragged it home, cleaned it, and brought it here [to Dubbo Showgrounds] on Sunday night," he said.
"We worked on and off throughout the week, making sure everything is working, so when the other volunteers showed up to do an hour or two, or three or four or five, everything falls into place."Mr Rendell said he also enjoys the 'great people' he is forever meeting through his volunteer work.
"We meet great people everywhere we go," he said.
Dubbo's most dedicated volunteer workers will be in the spotlight during National Volunteer Week which runs from May 17 to May 22.
