Rewind three seasons ago, both sides met in the grand final and it was Forbes who came out on top but CYMS captain Jarryn Powyer knows there is good feeling around his playing group this season.
"A lot of new faces with new ideas, new feel to the first grade squad and it's pretty competitive too which is always making training very sharp," he said.
After joking about the Forbes weather, Powyer admitted he is not certain on what the make-up of the Magpies side will be but knows they will be tough.
"Expecting an ordinary day with the weather. That's about the only thing I know about Forbes, I've never had a good day over there," he said.

"As for the team we just know that they are always strong, always willing to play for the full 80. We just need to worry about what we're doing really, as I said I've haven't seen them I'm sure they have changed a bit in the last two years considering we've had a year off footy."
CYMS are spoilt this season with stars across the field and Powyer feels a number of his side are capable of producing strong performances.
"It's hard to pick, we've got talent right across the park this year so obviously Jez (Jeremy Thurston) had a stand-out game last week and you can expect it from him again," he said.
"Probably our big boys, we know Forbes a fairly physical side hopefully Brydon (Ramien) and big James Stanley will step-up. Plus Ally (Beale) is always dynamite at the back and Josh Toole and the left side defence I don't think has leaked a try."
Stanley is a new addition to CYMS this season and has made a big impact off the bench but Powyer is impressed with the young-gun's attitude so far as well.
"He's obviously a big body but he's not afraid to do any of the tough stuff as well, he brings a bit of mongrel to our side as well and it's been just great having him at the club as well," he said.
"He's a better clubman than we were expecting. He puts his hand up to do the extras and cook barbecues and set up and what not so he is just a big bonus for the club on and off the field which is what we really look for."
In the round's other matches Narromine will host the Wellington Cowboys at Cale Oval.
The Macquarie Raiders will once again be on the road when they travel out to Nyngan to take on the Tigers.
Kick-off is 2:30pm at Spooner Oval.
