From what I can gather, this work will be completed by mid-April 2022 and council has assured people using the saleyards that they will not be disadvantaged to any great extent while the work is in progress.
At a recent meeting where this was outlined, Mr Roger Fletcher, of Fletchers International, expressed some concern that council needed to do due diligence on the length and frequency of his rail trains and that some further discussion should take place prior to the finalisation of the project between council and his operatives.
If all concerned get this upgrade correct it should be a major improvement to an important part of our local road system and a section of road that, at times, verges on being quite unsafe.

AUCTION TIME
A good friend and auctioneer David Smith (0409 656 289) has requested a mention in the column of an upcoming auction he is conducting in Gilgandra on Saturday, June 12 and Sunday, June 13, on behalf of the Late Bryan R Bywater OAM.
David advises that the event is a no reserve auction, with over 500 amazing lots collected by one man over 60 years. The listing will appeal to virtually every collector but in particular to those who have a special interest in wartime memorabilia, with a massive array of collectibles from the Boer, WWI, WWII, Korea and Vietnam wars. The range of items is so widespread and ranges from tunic buttons, badges and insignias, antique guns through to Willies 1942 army jeep (excellent working order) to a six-wheel 5 tonne troop carrier. Having perused the listing many times, I'm sure that not only collectors but also any person who wishes to pass on some item of historical interest will be well pleased by attending this sale.
Please contact David for details of viewing times, online bidding or anything else involved with this sale.
