Free practical load restraint information sessions are about to be held in 12 villages across the Parkes, Forbes and Lachlan Shire Council areas to ensure residents are tying their loads right and safely.
The sessions will provide information about the fundamentals of load restraint, legal requirements as well as tips to safely restrain hay bales, machinery and general freight.
Parkes, Forbes and Lachlan Shire Council Road Safety and Injury Prevention Officer, Melanie Suitor, said that attendees would also see damaged restraint equipment and case studies as well as hear from NSW Police and Transport for NSW Heavy Vehicle Inspectors.

"These information sessions are a great way to brush up on your load restraint knowledge, network with other attendees and you could win an Engel Thermo15 worth $190.
"We are running two sessions each day - one at breakfast and one at lunch and will provide a free barbecue. The locations have been paired so that if you can't make it to the session in your local village, we'll be back close to you in the coming weeks," Ms Suitor said.
