Bulls co-captain-coach James Leonard was happy to get the points at the end of the day.
"It was pretty scrappy but it was a good win in the end." he said.
Veteran Scott Fox made his return to the top side and Leonard felt he made his presence felt in the side.
"He loved it, he played left back and just a lot of time out there and enjoyed it, especially when they went down to ten men, we just created a lot of overlaps which were mainly down the left side," he said.

Leonard outlined some areas for improvement after the win on the weekend ahead of their clash with Orana Spurs next round.
"There's always room for improvement, we always put ourselves under pressure coming out from the back so we just need to work on that this week at training," he said.
Centre-back Leonard scored one of his sides three goals coming courtesy of a free-kick which he admitted to feeling a sense of deja vu.
"It wasn't too far out, I had one about three minutes earlier just a couple metres back and the keeper just touched that one but he couldn't quite get to the next one," he said.
Along with Leonard, Gareth Williams and Nelson Flick also found the back of the net whilst Harrison Maynard scored the lone goal for the visiting side.
Bulls have now dropped only lost one game from the first five, with the loss coming against Macquarie United in round one courtesy of a last minute winner from Will Hodges.
The Dubbo club have also unearthed future stars in Kane Settree and Tom Busch in the midfield who have taken their games to a new level in 2021 along with Kobe Rapley forming possibly the youngest core in the competition.
Elsewhere, Waratahs United remained top of the ladder by defeating Orana Spurs of Dubbo 3-1 in Orange.
And while his side is still unbeaten, Waratahs midfielder Ryan Sinclair feels the Dubbo sides will be tough to beat.
"Any of those teams, when they get all their players back, they'll be tough," he said.
"It's tough to comment on Bulls before we play them but they've got a lot of old heads who are all good players."
Bulls and Waratahs won't do battle until round nine this season.
In the other matches of round five, Panorama beat Parkes 2-0 and Lithgow Workmen's and Barnestoneworth United could not be separated as they played out a 3-all draw.
Macquarie United had the bye.
