Jamey Norman Kelly, 48, began yelling at the woman about her dogs jumping onto his car when she arrived home about 9pm on November 27 last year.
According to court documents the victim noticed the man was highly intoxicated before he told her and her dogs to get out of the house.

The woman explained she needed time to work out living arrangements for the dogs, before he said he would take them to the pound.
A verbal argument continued as the victim began packing her belongings.
According to police Kelly followed the woman into her room and began pushing her while continuing to yell at her. He then placed his hand on the front of the victim's neck and shoved her backwards before pushing her several times.
Kelly left the bedroom and went into the kitchen. The victim messaged numerous friends to see if someone was able to pick her up.
She got onto one of her male friends and asked "could you give me a lift pls, I have my bags and I'm desperate [sic]."
The friend asked where to and from when the victim said "My house, idk I'm calling someone when I feel safe".
As the victim walked out into the lounge room to continue packing the rest of her belongings, Kelly followed her and kicked her to the left side of her hip causing her to fall to the ground.
The victim got up and carried her bags out to the front of the house to wait for her friend to arrive. Kelly picked up some of her bags and followed the victim out the front before throwing the bags at her.
The victim's friend arrived, when Kelly began walking across the front lawn yelling out that he was going to smash up the vehicle.
The friend told Kelly he didn't want any trouble and he was just trying to get the victim to a safer spot. Due to the verbal threats the friend left to pick up another male friend before returning to pick up the victim.
The victim started to walk to the car when Kelly followed her carrying a wooden axe handle.
Kelly hit the bonnet of the car with the handle, before using it to hit the driver's side mirror causing the back to break off.
The victim's friend tried opening the door, but Kelly used the axe handle to scratch and dent the vehicle across the top of the door.
The victim's friend opened the door but remained seated in the car. Kelly approached him and hit him across the right eye with the axe handle causing a laceration to his eyebrow. Kelly continued to hit the victim's friend numerous times.
The woman called triple zero, before leaving with her friend.
Kelly was arrested and taken to Dubbo Police Station. Police said they did not offer for him to be interviewed due to his level of intoxication.
In Dubbo Local Court on Wednesday Kelly pleaded guilty to one count of destroy or damage property, one count of assault occasioning actual bodily harm and one count of common assault.
Defence lawyer David Hemsworth said Kelly had admitted he was an alcoholic, but had since cut back to drinking once a week.
"He's disgusted in himself for what he did," Mr Hemsworth said.
The court heard Kelly's father was a "violent alcoholic" who would beat him and his sister.
"He remembers seeing his mother with bruises on a regular basis," Mr Hemsworth said.
"The last time he saw his father, [his father] king hit him as he walked in the door. That was about six weeks before he died."
The court heard Kelly's record "had some length to it" with his last offence in 2010.
Magistrate Gary Wilson noted Kelly was "heavily intoxicated" at the time but it was "serious offending".
Kelly was convicted and sentenced to a community corrections order for two years and ordered to abstain from alcohol.
"That might be difficult, but that is the condition and you'll be screened from time to time," Magistrate Wilson said.
