Archer now faces a four to six week lay-off and adds to the growing injury list for the Roos, which includes co-captain Tim Beach who suffered an ankle injury two weekends ago in the side's close victory over the Bathurst Bulldogs.
"I'm out, I've got a broken hand after last game so I won't be playing, I'll be on the sidelines," Archer said.
After a physical loss to the Orange Emus last week, Dubbo will host the Eagles who have won their last two matches against Orange City and Bathurst.

Archer is wary of the Cowra side who returned to the competition this season after opting to sit out the COVID affected 2020 season but the side is in form only dropping the opening game of the season against Forbes.
"They (Cowra) obviously put a very good win on against Bulldogs, I've heard they've got a fairly star-studded backline and I mean in this comp we're expected every game is tough," he said.
In more positive news for the Dubbo side, Archer believes that up to three key players for the side may return for Saturday's clash.
"We should have Will Anderson back at hooker and potentially have Will Michell back at second-row, but I'm not too sure about Hamish Gordon." he said.
The return of co-captain Gordon would be timely for the home side as the scrum-half has missed the start of the season with an ankle injury suffered at training but is due to return any week now.
The Roos currently sit at the bottom of the Blowes Cup ladder with a single win and two losses to their name but have a poorer for and against than the Bulldogs who sit on the same just above them.
A win on Saturday for the Roos could see them jump to as high as fourth spot.
In the competitions other matches, Bathurst will be hoping to bounce back the loss against the Eagles last round when they host ladder-leaders Forbes on Saturday afternoon.
Orange's Wade Park will be the venue of the much anticipated clash between Orange City and Emus sides also on Saturday afternoon.
Kick-off will follow second grade which begins at 1:55pm at No.1 Oval.
