The production is directed by Wesley House Players' president Erifili Davis and will take to Dubbo stages Friday night.
Rehearsed: Staged Readings of Local Writers is an all-Dubbo collaboration, with works by local writers being read by local actors.
The production first came to light after Mrs Davis sparked the idea to do a production which showcased diverse work by local talent.
"I thought it would be great to present some really diverse work by local writers," Mrs Davis said.
"A staged reading is a great way to include lots of different material by lots of different writers. Staged readings use minimal movement, props, sets and lights.
"This means we can stage works that don't often get performed, like poetry and short stories, alongside the more typical monologues and short plays."
The collaboration started with an open call out to local writers, with actors then selecting pieces that resonated with them.
Mrs Davis said one actor in particular, Rhonda Kerr, ha received a warn return to stage after a long stretch of working backstage as director or with lighting and sound.
"[Rhona is] an absolute hoot in the short comedy 'Candy' by Kellie Jennar," she said.
"We've also got Camila Ward and Vicki Bedingfield who were last seen in 'Pretext' and Josh Ronan, who we usually see in more comedic roles.
"[Josh plays] opposite Michaela Davis in a short reworking of 'Hamlet'. Michaela also really gets to show her range, performing in a comedy monologue by Val Clark.
"We have so many wonderful actors involved, and we were so lucky to have such diverse writers happy to hand over their works for us to play with."
Other writers works being presented include Mandi Randell, Chris Ryan, Bridget Beswick, Marcello Davis and Michelle Campbell-Ward.
The production will run on Friday, April 30, from 7.30 pm at Wesley Community Hall.
Tickets are available via 123tix and at the door.
