The Stars of Dubbo Dance for Cancer will be held at the Dubbo Regional Theatre and Convention Centre on Friday night.
This year's stars have been working hard behind-the-scenes to prepare their incredible performances. As well as learning a dance routine, the stars have also been raising money for the Cancer Council.
More than $28,500 has been raised so far.
Cancer Council community relations coordinator Cassandra Sullivan said the participants should all be incredibility proud of their efforts.
"The Dubbo community has rallied behind the stars and it's really a community effort that is coming together for an amazing cause. [To the stars] I would say put your nerves aside, embrace the moment as you've put in the hard yards and now it's your time to shine," Ms Sullivan said.
ALSO MAKING NEWS:
The 2020 Dance for Cancer was cancelled due to COVID-19, but many of the participants who had already put up their hand decided to stay on for this year.
"Each star has been asked to raise a minimum of $2500 to participate but many have already gone above and beyond that amount. We will also conduct a live auction on the night which will further add to dollars already raised," Ms Sullivan said.
"We are so proud and appreciative of the effort put in by everyone to achieve this outcome."
All of the money raised will go to Cancer Council NSW to provide information, support and services to people living with cancer.
Locally, it will also help fund the Transport to Treatment program, which helps cancer patients get to their treatment.
Friday night's event will start with a "very special performance from the AllAbilitiesDanz group", said Ms Sullivan, followed by the star's hitting the dancefloor with a mixture of hip hop to contemporary and everything in between.
Tickets for the event are available via stars.cancercouncil.com.au/event/stars-of-dubbo, where donations to the stars can also be made.
