The initiative will connect people from across the state at all career stages to career advice and support which will help them to find the right pathways into in-demand industries, including advanced manufacturing and construction.
Training and employment services provider, VERTO Chief Executive Officer Ron Maxwell said he hopes the initiative will increase commencements in NSW given the significant role apprenticeships are expected to play in Australia's economic recovery.
"Australia's national skills deficit is predicted to reach 29 million by 2030," Mr Maxwell said.
"Declining apprenticeship numbers have been a concern for some time and it's crucial that we rectify this as we move into economic recovery.
"Apprenticeships are a critical mechanism to address youth unemployment, upskill and retrain displaced workers and help businesses grow in the wake of the pandemic," he said.
The initiative will come into play this year with a full roll out set for 2022.
The initiative is open to people who are of all career levels, from both school leavers through to mature-aged workers.
Mr Maxwell said as the pandemic recedes, VERTO has a number of apprenticeship incentives and initiatives on offer.
