This weekend
Get down to the Dubbo Farmers Market on the first and third Saturday of every month. Take a few carry bags to pick up seasonal produce, herbs, plants, bread, meat, jams and preserves. Fancy some local honey? They've got you covered. Dubbo Farmers Market, Macquarie St and Newell Hwy, 8am to noon. Wet weather venue is the Dubbo RSL Club carpark.

Mad Max: Furiosa
Star Watch
OK, so, it's not strictly something to do per se but there's fun to be had keeping an eye out for Chris Hemsworth (Thor) and Anya Taylor-Joy (Queen's Gambit) who are set to start filming a Mad Max prequel, Furiosa, in various NSW locations. It's still a bit of a mystery on where they will turn up, so keep your eyes peeled. Various
Regional Sessions
Early bird tickets
This is a first-of-its-kind workshop for aspiring songwriters to go up a gear in creativity and technique, garner inspiration and motivation, foster connections and learn skills from some of the greats. The Regional Sessions will bring Australian folktronica singer/songwriter Sophie Payten, known professionally as Gordi, and Sydney-based singer/songwriter Ilan Kidron to town with more names to be added. Ever wanted to have a look inside your local fire station? Need some tips on home fire safety heading into the cooler months? Here's your chance. The Dubbo Fire Brigade will be doing firefighting demos and station tours. You'll find that firefighters do far more than just fight fires. It's the time of year when the show rolls into town - and it's set to be a big couple of weekends. There will be exhibits and rides, fairy-floss and show-bags, craft, cooking and dog parades. Picture a melting pot of gender parity, bringing small country towns into the 21st century and a spiraling, funny culture war. It could be real life, and it was. Artists are getting ready to take over Dubbo's music scene for the first Dubbo Fringe Fest - a satellite of the Newcastle Fringe Festival. A long list of artists (too many to mention all of them) include Snez, Tin Camp's Studio Sessions, Who Me, OMG WTF and Chopin's last tour. Mooney + Del Bene
Gig + Road Trip
Comics Lawrence Mooney and Al Del Bene are coming to Orange for a double header on May 7 and May 8 at Factory Espresso. There will be two shows nightly at 6.30pm and 8.45pm.
