The Paul Crain-coached side plays a rare Friday night match in Dubbo this week and will welcome the Mudgee Gulgong Wolves to No. 1 Oval for the round three clash.
Last weekend's 8-5 defeat to Waratahs United in Orange was a reality check for Macquarie after an impressive 1-0 win over defending premiers Dubbo FC a week prior.
The most disappointing aspect for Crain in that match was his side's first half performance as they shipped five goals to the rampant Tahs outfit.
The Dubbo side is expected to be boosted by the return of a number of key defensive players for the clash with the Wolves and that will have a settling effect across the pitch.
Captain Rhys Osborne will again be a key figure in the middle of the park and heads into the match having scored a long-range belter in last weekend's loss.
Mudgee Gulgong are new to the competition and provide something of an unknown.
The side is coming off a second round bye, having suffered a 3-1 defeat to Parkes in their WPL debut a week prior.
Kick-off is 7pm.
