Dubbo Pet and Stockfeeds office manager Alison Carey feels for her customers in the grip of the plague that has affected the region for months.
The Jannali Road operation caught as many as 70 mice in a home-made trap one night, which she said was "pretty huge" but "nothing compared with the people out west".
"It's so hit and miss, because I've got customers who come in, a lady this morning, and they're still getting hundreds," Ms Carey said.
"And like, it's really died down here at the moment, with the cold weather, but she's still getting hammered."
The business sells rodent bait, but after securing a big load, high demand for it meant there was little left.
Ms Carey said people would buy whatever brand they could get, because they were "just sick of it".
"And I feel for them, because I think it's bad enough here at work, but at least I get to go home, and it's not that bad - I've got them in the roof, or whatever," she said.
"But these poor people, they're in their house, they're in their kids' beds, it's just - it's enough to drive you crazy.
"The lady this morning who had a hundred at her house, she enjoys going to work, because there are no mice at work.

"She said 'My poor husband, he's stuck at home' but she enjoys going to work so then she can get away from them."
Mice have overrun large parts of the region since last year's bumper harvest, ruining some summer crops, and invading silos, sheds, homes and businesses.
Three patients and residents of health facilities were also bitten, and reports of dead mice in rainwater storages led to warnings from health authorities about the increased risk of leptospirosis during times of escalated mouse and rat numbers.
