The landholder of a property on the Goan Creek Road, about 30 kilometres east of Dubbo, discovered fences cut and the sheep yard dismantled, as well as an old car on his land.
Police believe the offenders were preparing to steal property, however it remains unconfirmed if anything was actually taken.
Officers attached to Orana Mid-Western Police District are now appealing for information, and for anyone who may have witnessed people or a vehicle in the area during that timeframe to come forward.
Anyone with information should contact Dubbo Police Station on 6883 1599 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 and crimestoppers.com.au.
