Dubbo Greyhound Racing Club president Shayne Stiff fully expects to see multiple Dawson Park track record broken next month during the inaugural Brother Fox Carnival.

It was confirmed on Monday the series will be going ahead, with the heats set to add to a bumper sporting weekend on May 22 and 23 that will also feature a race meeting at Dubbo Turf Club and the NRL blockbuster between the South Sydney Rabbitohs and Penrith Panthers at Apex Oval.
Taking the place of the Dubbo Cup, the heats of the Brother Fox series will be run on Saturday, May 22 before the $40,000-to-the-winner final is contested the following Friday night.

The plans for the carnival were first announced earlier this year and Stiff has received plenty of interest from trainers around the country in the time since.
"The week from the 22nd of May to the 28th you will see some superstars and I'd like to get even money on the track record being broken for one, two, or three of the distances because the class of dog that will be here will be second to none," Stiff said at Dawson Park.
"The $40,000 to the winner will be enough to attract the best greyhounds in Australia.
"I've already had calls from leading Melbourne trainers and Queensland trainers for trials here over the next month or two so not only is it a big weekend, as we all know the football with Penrith and Souths, but for the greyhounds it starts now with people driving here and stay for a day and trial their dogs.
"It's a really good thing for the Dubbo greyhound club and the community."
The carnival will also be special as it will honour one of the finest dogs to come out of Dubbo.
Dubbo will be a hive of activity over that weekend in May.

Brother Fox was trained in Dubbo by Steve Kavanagh throughout his career and became a Hall of Famer, with wins in the Peter Mosman Classic and Vic Peters Classic among his numerous victories at group level.
"I don't think the greyhound industry put up our champion dogs like the horses do," Stiff added.
"There's ones like Winx and we can all name the champion horses but we seem to forget about our champion dogs.
"Brother Fox was a champion, and drew thousands to the track including an exhibition race in 1985 where they were 10 deep along the fence at Dawson Park to see him."
As well as the Brother Fox feature series, the annual Bill and Peg Miller series will also be part of the carnival.
There will be $10,000 on offer for the winner of the final in that series.
Dubbo MP Dugald Saunders was also at the Dubbo track on Monday to talk about the massive weekend of sport next month.
"Dubbo will be a hive of activity over that weekend in May, with the first NRL game ever played in the city being the main attraction on Sunday," Saunders said.
"But there are a range of other activities, including this special meet at the greyhound track on the Saturday night, and I'm encouraging visitors and locals to be part of the action."
