The Conservatorium has taken out its second Certificate of Distinction award for Most Outstanding Studio or Music School- Preliminary to Grade 4.
The award comes following the high results achieved by more than 50 students from Macquarie Conservatorium presenting for the Australian Music Examination Board instrumental exams in 2020.

Of the 50 students, seven of them took out A+ marks or high distinction, 19 received honours and 14 received credit, with others ranking satisfactory.
Macquarie Conservatorium director Vivienne Winther said it was an amazing achievement.
"This is our second time receiving this award. We also won the same award in 2017 for the first time," Ms Winther said.
"I'm surprised, it was a difficult year last year for everyone and all of the exams were done in the second half of the year due to COVID-19.
"I was surprised so many children were still happy to do the exams given all the interruptions of 2020."
Ms Winther said it was a lot of the younger students who received high marks.
"It was judged across all of NSW instrumental exam entries, metropolitan and regional, private teachers, schools and music-teaching business and other conservatoriums," she said.
"This award means the collective results of our students gave us a ranking in the top ten of all those entries."
Macquarie Conservatorium violin and clarinet player Nethuli Pathirana said she was "very surprised" by her marks.
"I was very surprised as we didn't have as many lessons [due to COVID-19], but I studied really hard," she said.
"It was my first exam as well, so I think I did pretty well."
Ms Winther said award would be displayed outside the office.
