Stepz Fitness officially opened on Thursday morning. "[Stepz Fitness Dubbo has] got the best trainers in Dubbo including Bodie Hennifey who has been in Dubbo his whole life," Stepz Fitness founder Sam Waller said.
Mr Hennifey has been appointed Stepz Fitness Dubbo manager.
"I am a fan of the community aspect of gyms," Mr Waller said.
"We work on the motto that everyone is welcome. We want this to be a no ego, non-intimidatory environment where people can come do a class or weight circuit then sit down at our communal table near reception and have a chat and socialise before they leave.
"We don't want Stepz Fitness to be a place where you just come and do a quick workout and leave. We encourage people to sit down, have a coffee and relax and talk to other people. So it's all about community.
"We will support people through their goals whatever they may be."
Mr Waller created Stepz Fitness to help people on a larger scale.
"When I started in fitness 11 years ago as a Personal Trainer the big grip I had with the 24/7 gym industry was that we couldn't give results and that community feel with only individual access," he said.
"I wanted to help people on a larger scale and focus on them getting results and functional training affords us that."
Mr Waller said community members can expect to see brand new cardio and weight machines at Stepz Fitness Dubbo as well as a Functional Group Training Room.
"The functional group training room is where we will run classes that involve cardio, high intensity, boxing and yoga," Mr Waller said. "It's a mix of mind and body."
Mr Waller also said Stepz Fitness will give government workers reduced fees through the acceptance of passports.
""I want to make it as affordable as we can with a cap on the number of members that Stepz Fitness can have," he said.
"There is a foundation rate for 24/7 access to the gym."
Mr Waller is encouraging residents to go and check out the new exercise machines, from the stair master, cross trainers, treadmills and weight machines to the functional group training room.
Stepz Fitness Dubbo will trade Monday to Thursdays from 9am to 6pm and Fridays to Saturdays 9am to 12pm.
"Classes start at 6am with [the classes] Stepz Fit, Hllt and Strong, then there are mothers classes at 9:30 and a class for seniors on Fridays at 8:30am," he said.
"After work classes which start at 5:30pm."
