From now until August 22, every eligible drink container specifically donated through a Reverse Vending Machine will raise 10 cents to help the Royal Flying Doctor Service.
The Royal Flying Doctor Service will use the funds to provide more accessible and equitable healthcare services for rural, regional, and remote communities across NSW.
Scheme network operator TOMRA Cleanaway CEO James Dorney said the new partnership gives NSW residents the unique opportunity to provide funding for those in need by donating used containers and bottles, while reducing litter in the environment.
Royal Flying Doctor South Eastern Section CEO Greg Sam said if two million drink container refunds are donated to the RFDS, that would mean $200,000 would go towards supporting families in rural, regional, and remote NSW.
"The Dubbo community can help the Flying Doctor provide outback emergency retrievals, GP clinics, mental and dental health, breast care, and chronic disease screening to Australians living in the outback of NSW simply by donating all or part of your drink container refunds to the Flying Doctor," Mr Sam said.
