Fusion was up against Orange Thunder for their first game, but were unable to keep up and ultimately faced defeat.
Fusion Heats Ange Read said it was a tough game.
"[Fusion Heat] stayed within 10 goals in the first half however Orange came out firing in the second half and took the win 61-32," she said.
Fusion then went up against Forbes for game two and delivered a much better and more competitive performance with the teams staying head to head for most of the game, but it was Forbes who eventually took home victory.
"Game two was a super tight game, only a few goals in it until the last quarter, but Forbes played a strong fourth quarter to take the win 55-47," Read said.
"Coaches Sam Rummans and Michelle Williams are extremely happy with the effort put in by the team. We had only gotten together and had two weeks of training before the competition began and all players showed improvement.
"By the end of the competition the team had come together well. We have lots of positives to take out of this season and will be looking to build on that next year.
Read said players at peak performance were Isabella Attwater and Sarah Bridges with consistency and Kyla Flick and Eloise Bell in defence.
