On Thursday the Shooters, Fishers and Farmers Party member delivered a notice of motion to Parliament.
In it he called for the lower house to acknowledge the growing issue of mice and their impact on towns, agriculture, businesses and people's well-being.
Mr Butler is asking the house to note in some areas the mice have been "an issue for months".
He also calls for the government to immediately subsidise the cost of baiting to residents, businesses and farmers, and support the calls for action from NSW Farmers.
"I have spoken previously about the issue of mice, in some communities they've been wreaking havoc for months," Mr Butler told the Daily Liberal.
"In town, in businesses, and on farms.
"The people have been spending incredible amounts of money, some farmers are in the hundreds of thousands of dollars, trying to control mice.
"Others have lost hundreds of thousands of dollars' worth of grain and hay as a result of mice infesting their storages.
"So the notice of motion was basically saying to government 'this is a problem, you know it's a problem and we want you to do something immediately, which is provide a financial subsidy or rebate to people who have expenses in buying baits for their home, business or farm'."
The Daily Liberal has contacted NSW Minister for Agriculture and Minister for Western NSW Adam Marshall for comment about the issue of mice.
