Kenneth James Knight made no application for bail in Dubbo Local Court on Monday.
Magistrate Gary Wilson has ordered the 50-year-old to remain in custody until the case returns to court in May.

It's alleged Knight stabbed a woman at a house on Wortumertie Street in Bourke on Saturday morning.
The 47-year-old woman died at the scene.
A crime scene was set up at the property, which has been examined by detectives and specialist forensic crews.
Knight was arrested and taken to Bourke Police Station where he was charged with domestic violence-related murder and contravening an apprehended violence order.
He was refused bail to appear at Dubbo Bail Court on Sunday. During the brief proceedings on Sunday morning, Knight was not required to enter pleas to the charges.
He made no application for bail, and was formally refused.
The matter will return to Dubbo Local Court on May 13.
