Craig Ian Rose, 26, purchased an unused gearbox from the victim through Facebook marketplace in November last year.
In December, Rose and the victim engaged in a Facebook conversation about the gearbox, where Rose made formal complaints the machinery was making "crunching noises" and asked for his money back.

According to court documents the victim refused to give the money back as they believed the gearbox was in perfect condition prior to the sale, before Rose began making threats toward them.
"Too bad you were sighted. I've given you my bank details you have until midnight to put the money in. I've had a drive by check up on you. Best not to hide in that shed bud. I'll smile for the camera [sic]," one of the messages read.
"I'll promise I'll pay you a visit I fuxing [sic] promise you."
Rose made full admissions to police regarding sending the intimidating messages.
When police asked why he sent them, Rose told them he just wanted his money back.
"Yes I shouldn't have sent them. I don't even know where he lives," Rose told police.
"I just wanted my money back, that's all. I would not of done anything [sic]."
Representing himself, Rose pleaded guilty to stalk/intimidate and intend fear or physical harm in Dubbo Local Court on Wednesday.
Rose told the court he never had any intention to hurt the victim.
"I don't actually know who the person is ... I don't know what they look like, I know nothing," he said.
Magistrate Theresa Hamilton accepted Rose made some "fairly empty threats" in an attempt to get his money back, and accepted he didn't know the victim or where they lived.
Taking into account Rose's early plea of guilt, and no prior convictions he was handed a conditional release order without conviction, to be of good behaviour for 12 months.
