Emergency services rushed into action after reports of an animal rescue situation in Kelso on Sunday evening, with crews from Fire and Rescue NSW, NSW Police Rescue and the State Emergency Service all answering the call.

The initial reports came just after 8pm on Sunday evening, with crews arriving to find a young dog had become stuck under a large concrete slab and was unable to get out.
After establishing adequate lighting at the scene and with assistant from Police Rescue and SES crews, firefighters from Kelso deployed specialist air bags to gently raise the slab enough to allow the dog to be rescued.

The dog was removed without injury and kept covered and safe as the operation was completed.
Via social media, Fire and Rescue NSW Kelso said it was 'great to see the strong working relationship we have with our primary rescue units from Police Rescue and SES'.
