A planning proposal from Devil's Hollow Brewery has been submitted to council to allow the facility to function as a pub.
According to the council report, "the proposed use of the site as a pub will allow patrons to consume alcoholic beverages on site without the need to purchase food. Operation of the site as a pub will also enable to use of electronic gaming machines at the premises.".
In the report, council's manager growth planning Steven Jennings said the brewery is looking to install up to 20 electronic gaming machines.
"It is considered that the proposal is generally consistent with relevant local and regional strategies and the use of the site as a 'pub' will be a complementary activity to the existing uses in the Blueridge Business Park," Mr Jennings said.

He cited the increased tourism benefits and patrons it would bring to the Blueridge Business Park.
"...the proposed pub may bring new patrons to the area, resulting in additional exposure, and potentially attracting new businesses to move into the park," Mr Jennings said.
"Furthermore, with approximately 123 hectares of commercial and industrial land still to be developed, the proposed use will also serve as an amenity for existing and future businesses and visitors in the area, contributing to further success of the area's role as employment-generating land."
The proposed pub will be on the agenda at the Dubbo Regional Council committee meetings on Monday night. If the councillors agree, the proposal will be forwarded to the NSW Department of Planning, Industry, and Environment for a gateway determination.
Following that, it will be placed on public exhibition for the community's feedback.
