Regulars on the competitive cycling scene, former World Champion Wheeler and former National Champion Farr, looked to emerge from the Covid enforced hiatus in winning style.
Darrel Wheeler started his weekend by being named the NSW Masters 10 Cyclist of the Year, before continuing it in the active competition.
This recognition, along with his well earned reputation, added an extra swagger to his stride as he readied himself for the competition.
Wheeler chose to concentrate on the Scratch Race, Pointscore and Time Trial events.

This selection proved very wise as he took Gold in every event, earning him three NSW Championships.
His Time Trial time of 39 seconds was over a second faster than his nearest rival.
Traditionally a Sprint distance cyclists, Jason Farr took Gold in his pet Sprint event, going through the head to head races undefeated.
He backed up on the same day to take Silver in the Scratch race and again in the TIme Trial.
Testing every muscle in his body, and his lung capacity, Farr also chose to take on the extreme endurance Point Score event.
Finishing a credible fifth in this event Farr left another 6 riders, who finished behind him, feeling a little ashamed of themselves.
As part of the Masters State Championships the NSW U19 and Elite Individual Pursuit was also held after being postponed due to a Covid shut down some weeks ago.
Dylan Eather was in fine form taking the Gold medal in the U19 Men's event while Emily Wheeler took Silver in the Elite Women's event.
In Adelaide, Kurt Eather and Danny Barber competed against some of the Worlds best cyclists.
Eather went up against Olympic and World Champions, along with World Tour professionals in the National Men's Madison Championship.
The 200 lap race was eventually won by Olympians Sam Welsford and Leigh Howard.
Barber competed as part of the Adelaide Track League Sprint spectacular, which doubled as the SA State Championships.
Along the way to taking the gold medal in the U19 Sprint and Kieran events Barber broke the U19 South Australian 200m record previously held by 2 time World Sprint Champion Mathew Glaetzer.
Locally there was some hot action at the Dubbo Criterium series with Cooper Farr, Imogen Fuller and Bill Williamson taking out E, D and C Grades.
Simon Friend and Craig Lennox offered stiff opposition in the combined A and B Grades but these categories were eventually taken out by Tim Hines and Tom Williamson.
Track racing takes place every Tuesday night at 6:30 pm right through March while Criterium racing starts at 8 am every Sunday for the foreseeable future.
