Motorists are advised of continuing changed traffic conditions for controlled low impact rock blasting on the Mitchell Highway between Bathurst and Orange tonight.
The work at Guyong will involve the use of a drilling rig to drill small boreholes where the low-impact explosives will be placed. This will be followed by controlled blasting to remove basalt and allow for shoulder widening on the highway.
Traffic control, reduced speed limits and intermittent stopping will be in place during blasting for the safety of motorists and workers.
Motorists are advised to drive to the conditions, and follow the directions of signs and traffic control and allow an additional 15 minutes travel time to their journey.
Transport for NSW thanks motorists for their patience during this time.
