A 33-year-old man was allegedly confronted by a group of men on Hoskins Street at Nyngan after leaving a party at the nearby show ground about 8pm on Saturday.
The group assaulted the man by hitting him across the head with a glass bottle, before stabbing him in the abdomen.

It's alleged the group continued to assault the man, before fleeing.
The 33-year-old injured man was located by a family member a short time later and taken to Nyngan Hospital, before being taken to Dubbo Hospital for treatment to a suspected punctured lung and heart.
Officers from Central North Police District were notified and began an investigation.
