RSL-Colts have all but locked up the minor premiership with a 20 point lead over CYMS Cougars.
The Cougars are tied on points with Newtown and lead Macquarie by just a single point.
Newtown will face the Cougars on Saturday at No. 1 Oval in what should be one of the tightest matches of the season to date.
After returning from injury last weekend Newtown captain Mat Skinner, along with brother Steve, was clinical as the Tigers downed Rugby with little trouble.
On the other hand, CYMS showed a good effort with ball after drinks but had little application when it came to batting as they were destroyed by RSL-Colts.

Steve Skinner said the impact of his brother Mat's return to the side is massive.
"He's (Mat) our best player, batting and bowling, he'll be returning to bowling not sure whether it will be this week or next week," he said.
"He takes the new ball and will probably slide back down into the middle order with (Mitch) Russo and (Dan) Holland back on deck."
The eldest Skinner brother said the playing group is feeling positive heading into the business end of the season.
"Excited, any games we can get from now on will be good for us. We've had a few blokes not play and a few blokes that have been injured and a couple that have moved to the club, so we are itching to get on the field, we've missed a few games of late," he said.
Rain has washed out two of the last three weekends and with more rain predicted for Saturday, Skinner said it's frustrating but is optimistic the rain will not dampen their match.
"You've got to take it as it comes, hoping like buggery it stays away for a little while so we can get on, we've gotta win two out of our next three so we are sort of itching to get on and have a crack, I guess, if we can win two out of our last three we're in I reckon," he said.
On the other hand, CYMS' batting line-up will be boosted by the return of Tom Nelson but will be hoping others in the order can stand up.
The Cougars were bowled out for just 61 last week with just two players reaching double figures.
Lachlan Strachan will likely play a vital role for the Cougars with both bat and ball and after being attacked last week by RSL he will be out to prove a point.
Bailey Edmunds has recently returned to form with the ball and will hoping he can do some damage to his once former side, the last time these two sides met it was Edmunds who tore through the Tigers line-up claiming 4/14.
In the round's other games, RSL-Colts will be without Charlie Kempston for the season due to injury as they face a South Dubbo Hornets side who are coming off an upset win over Macquarie last weekend.
Rugby will play Macquarie in what is almost a must win for the latter who face a tough final two games against Newtown and RSL-Colts.
Play begins 1pm.
