The new-look Western Rams forward pack may have caught the eye when the squad for this season's open-age country championships was announced earlier this week but coach Cameron Greenhalgh is also excited about what's on offer in the backs.

With players like Jack Kavanagh, Rob Mafi, and Oliver Gordon set to make their senior Rams debut in a powerhouse forward pack it could appear to some Greenhalgh's side is ready to take on Monaro through the middle on Sunday.
But the coach expects his side to be playing expansive footy throughout.
"We'll be playing attacking footy right from the kick-off," he said.
"We'll play expansive footy. We won't play a boring style and that's because of the skill level in the side.
"We've kept it pretty simple but there's been some little things we've worked on at training and when I've asked them to they've done it with ease."

The centre pairing of Jackson Brien and Blake Lawson is one the coach is particularly looking forward to seeing in action.
The duo, who will play their footy at Group 10 clubs Bathurst St Pat's and Bathurst Panthers respectively this year, lined up in the centres when Western took on France at Parkes in 2019 and Greenhalgh was a keen spectator on that occasion.
"I was very impressed with them," he said of the France game.
"I had a bit to do with Jacko during the President's Cup last year and I get to work with Blake too, and he'll be hard to handle.
"It will be good to see them get a bit of ball, it's exciting."
The versatile Andrews, who made his name in the centres during Forbes' run to the 2016 Group 11 title before spending time with the Newcastle Knights, will have Sam Simmons and Jeremy Thurston outside him on the wings.
"There's speed and some size, as well, in the backs and we've got good jumpers out on the wings and then Mitch Andrews at the back. That's exciting because that kid can do anything on his day," Greenhalgh added.
Wade Kavanagh will provide the versatility from the bench as he has experience playing in the centres, at hooker, and at lock in Group 11.
The Rams will come together on Saturday morning and have a training run at Cowra before making the trip to Canberra.
Kick-off is 1pm at the Kippax playing fields.
