The Business Fibre Zone event follows the introduction of premium business fibre zones by nbn last year and is part of nbn's focus on building digital capacity in regional Australia.
Dubbo Chamber of Commerce president Matt Wright says the Business Fibre Initiative for Dubbo "levels the playing field" between regional and metropolitan businesses.
"There's always been a perception that businesses in regional are at a disadvantage to their city counterparts when it comes to a reliable and cost-effective hi-speed internet connection," Mr Wright says.
"It's exciting that the city has been selected as a location for one of the federal government's Business Fibre Zones as this will provide a platform for access to a service being carved by so many businesses."
During the event guests will hear from local business leaders who will speak about the advantages of strong digital connectivity, with nbn state manager Tom O'Dea, also set to make an appearance.
"Better connectivity for the businesses has been widely welcomed as a potential boon in Western NSW, particularly as a greater opportunity is sought in the post-Covid migration away from urban centres," Mr O'Dea said.
"The service also has the potential to attract other business to the city, as well as encouraging creativity amongst the existing business community to find exciting and alternative ways to use the technology.
The event will run on March 9 from 7 am at The Exchange.
