An unbeaten 88 run haul from returning skipper Mat Skinner has boosted the Newtown Tigers to another crucial win. Skinner, who recently had to undergo surgery, was in doubt for Saturday's Whitney Cup fixture, but opened the batting and stayed the distance in a statement-making performance. He collected 88 runs from 101 balls faced and sent 10 to the boundaries throughout and was joined by brother Steve mid-way through the innings, who provided an able 60 to keep the score climbing. Newtown finished 6/243, while Roland O'Connor (46) managed Rugby's best en-route to 152.
