An unbeaten 88 run haul from returning skipper Mat Skinner has boosted the Newtown Tigers to another crucial win.
Skinner, who recently had to undergo surgery, was in doubt for Saturday's Whitney Cup fixture, but opened the batting and stayed the distance in a statement-making performance.
He collected 88 runs from 101 balls faced and sent 10 to the boundaries throughout and was joined by brother Steve mid-way through the innings, who provided an able 60 to keep the score climbing.
Newtown finished 6/243, while Roland O'Connor (46) managed Rugby's best en-route to 152.
Elsewhere in the fixtures, Mitch Bower sailed past a half-century for the RSL Colt's in their win over the CYMS Cougars.
Bower managed 82 from 82 balls faced to help power the RSL Colt's to a 9/218 innings.
A late 21 run effort from Jake Settree was the best offering from the CYMS Cougars, who finished with 61 runs during their chase after Ben Semmler showed his class with the ball, taking four wickets.
CYMS will next meet Newtown, while Rugby squares off with Macquarie.
