In Friday night's Royal Hotel Cup semi-final night the pair the pair formed a crucial 81-run partnership to help Rugby Union to a 31-run victory over Orange CYMS.
Now only Orange City stands between Rugby Union and victory in the Twenty20 competition.
Though Rugby skipper Peacock (30 off 25) was a little disappointed neither he or Jeffrey (49 off 38) went on to something bigger, he knows their third-wicket partnership was critical.
Before that Rugby had been 2-5 after winning the toss and electing to bat first at Wade Park
"Marty and I probably threw it away a little bit there, but we got us out of a bit of trouble which we needed and Marty batted really well," Peacock said.
"That's what you want for your marquee.
"It was really good for me to bat with him. I've played a lot of cricket with him and he's a really smart cricketer, when we were out there it just felt like we were in control.
The third wicket stand was broken when Hugh Le Lievre, who finished with 3-21 off his four overs, removed Peacock with the score on 86.
Jeffrey fell soon after when caught out off the bowling of Aquinder Dhillon, but as Peacock indicated, Qureshi hit an unbeaten 23 off 21 to help Rugby to a handy 8-145 after 20 overs.
Angus Wilson was the best of CYMS' bowlers with 3-20 off four overs.

CYMS' chase did not get off to a good start as Rugby's new-ball combination of Jeremy Thackray (2-21 off four overs) and Jonah Ruzgas (1-9 off three) reduced them to 3-15.
When Dave Neil - who'd hit an unbeaten century six days earlier - fell to Jeffrey for just three, the Orange side was in big trouble at 4-25.
While number four Tom Belmonte (50 off 39) showed some fight, he did not get the support he needed.
So when Hugh McIntyre (3-11 off two) removed Belmonte, it was clear Rugby was headed to the decider. CYMS finished at 8-114.
"I'm just trying to bring in to just play really simple cricket in the field, try to take wickets with the new ball and once we get out of the power play, just stop them from scoring quickly, it really just puts the pressure on them," Peacock said.
"We executed with the new ball which was really good, we took our catches - we didn't drop a catch - and we just fielded really well. I told the boys that if we field well we'll win more games than we lose.
"I sort of felt in control the whole time even when he [Belmonte] was hitting a few, he would have had to score 80 as there were no runs coming from the other end. There was a little bit in the mind of maybe, but it was a very big maybe."
Rugby will meet Orange City in the Wade Park decider this coming Friday, February 26.
