This year Narromine's Cathy Coen is shaving off her curly locks to support the growing number of Australians diagnosed with blood cancer including leukaemia, lymphoma, myeloma and other related blood disorders.
On March 13, Ms Coen will be shaving her head at the Narromine Hotel as part of the World's Greatest Shave to raise funds for the Leukaemia Foundation.

Ms Coen decided to take part in the event in January after seeing an advertisement on television, and said she hasn't looked back.
She believed it was important to do something in honour of the late Dick Carney who was like one of her "adoptive parents".
"The Carneys are very special people to me, they've helped me a lot," Ms Coen said.
"I've been pretty sick all my life, and spent a lot of time in hospital in my younger days. When Ruth worked [at the hospital], Dick would always come to see her and duck in to see me, and tell me I was like his daughter under his wing."
Ms Coen's fundraising efforts are already under way and has reached $430 of her $1000 target. Money raised by the World's Greatest Shave will go towards supporting the growing number of Australians living with blood cancer.
"I can't bring Uncle Dick back, but I can help some other families, whether that be with research or supporting families who are suffering," she said.
"There's people worse off than me, so I thought I'd get out and help someone else."
The event will take place at 7pm, and there will be plenty of raffle prizes to be won on the night. Ms Coen thanked everyone who had supported her so far.
"The amount of stores here that have supported me. I've got 25 prizes as well as lots of donations toward leukaemia.
"It's just really opened my mind, but that's just typical Narromine when someone's in trouble or families are suffering they just jump at it."
Raffle tickets will also be on sale at a stall at Coles on Saturdays.
