While circumstances might have conspired to delay the first run in Dubbo, with the Turf Club becoming the focus of an entire state on Sunday, with the only races held in NSW happening there, Clint Lundholm's stable wasted no time in picking up another win.

Debutant Sollozando saluted in an impressive opening effort, besting a field of talented two-year-olds to claim the first win of the day.

"It's great when you've got young horse coming through the stable and they perform first up, great little two-year-old coming through, there's some nice young horse races coming around in our area," Lundholm said.
"It's nice to have one here in our backyard."
Jockey Grant Buckley kicked up the effort along the final stretch to see Sollozando swing out wide and power past the presumptive favourite, Tracey Bartley's Phases, and pip the front runner to the post.
"We didn't know she'd win, she's very green, but once she puts it together she'll have a couple laps in her," Lundholm said.
While the debutant showed plenty of fight, and speed, down the final stretch, there wasn't much seperating them from the rest of the pack, with the come from behind win placing them in front by just a head by the time the crowded field crossed the post together.
