The 10 interns are eager to begin their two year internship in Dubbo and all were open to the idea of returning to the country once their study had been complete.
Aarooran Sritharan, Jean-Luc Vrisohis, Grace Nelson, Akshaya Thanajeyan, Rebecca-Leah Kovacs, Richard Ryan, Connor Bartholomew, Ainsley Goff, Kan Phansuwon and Rhiannon Holdsworth come from all over the world, with some from as far away as Canada.
Western NSW is represented among the cohort with Grace Nelson and Richard Ryan from Bathurst and Gular respectively.
Director of Medical Service for the hospital Dr Geoff Hardacre says many of the interns will look to come back to the country as many have before.
"We have some interns come back before and many will again, it depends if their partners and spouses can also get jobs out here," Dr Hardacre said.
The idea of interns at the hospital is something the Dr Hardacre felt strongly about and feels that interns get a more interactive experience in country areas.
"We usually take 8-10 interns where as other hospital's in the city, can take up to 50,"
"This means we get to know everyone well and develop a relationship with the doctors."
After completing a bachelor's degree and studying a doctor of medicine, the student doctors become interns in hospitals all over the world.
Dubbo Hospital shared interns with the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in Sydney for 16 years before welcoming their own groups for the past 12 years.
The interns all still have time to decide what field they wish to pursue, with some interested in the idea of oncology a welcome sign as the Western Cancer Centre in Dubbo nears completion.
