Hospitality businesses are seeking extra services to help them secure employee's as the 'labour pool for hospitality has been left dramatically unsupplied' according to one recruitment agency.

OneTap Feedback head of business solutions and change Mark Patterson said restaurants in Dubbo have felt the impacts of the 'brewing' employment issues all to well, turning to agencies for help with the recruitment of staff.
"For some time now, I'd say for the last six-months minimum, employers in the hospitality industry have had a great deal of difficulty finding people willing to fill their vacant positions," Mr Patterson said.
"It's very clear and well known among business owners within the hospitality space that it has to do with the Governments support of the community during the COVID crisis in the form of Job Keeper and Job Seeker."
Mr Patterson said Job Keeper has stopped the flow of employees from leaving current jobs to new jobs, meaning businesses are now advertising job positions to an 'unemployment pool of people receiving Job Seeker benefits.'
"The problem with advertising to people who are on the increased Job Seeker benefit is that you can work 15 to 20 hours casually in a restaurant or bar, and you earn a bit more than if you received the Job Seeker benefit, so people who are unemployed aren't feeling the urge to get a job to earn next to no more than they get by just staying at home," he said.
Mr Patterson said restaurants he was working with were adding in extra employment benefits for their appointments in order to entice applicants to the roles.
