Dubbo residents can look forward to below-average daytime temperatures at the weekend and into next week.
The Bureau of Meteorology's (BoM) seven-day forecast for Dubbo as of Wednesday indicates current heat will abate.
Top temperatures in the city were below its January average of 33.7 degrees Celsius for the first 12 days of January 2020.
On Tuesday the heat arrived and is expected to peak at 38 degrees on Thursday.
Friday's maximum temperature is predicted to be 34 degrees followed by 32 degrees on Saturday, 33 degrees on Sunday and Monday, and 32 degrees on Tuesday.
There is a chance of storms on Thursday, Monday and Tuesday but the BoM predicts they will deliver little rain.
There is a 30 per cent chance of up to 0.2 millimetres (mm) falling on Thursday and up to 1mm on Monday.
Dubbo had received 50mm of rain this month as of Wednesday morning.
