More than a month after reports of the rodents making their presence known in town, Petrie's Mitre 10 sales manager Jane Ensor says demand for control products remains "huge".
The store was ordering up to seven times as many traps as normal to keep up the supply to customers, she said.
"When we order mouse traps we're ordering 700 at a time, to keep on top of it," Ms Ensor said.
"That might be lasting us a week and a bit and then we'll go to another supplier and get another 700.
"It went from ordering 100 to 200 to now each order we're up to about 700 in traps just alone."
Having a number of suppliers was enabling the store to keep up with supply, Ms Ensor said.
The products were being snapped up by householders in need.

"A lot of customers are saying they're catching four or five a go, I don't think there's any particular area [in Dubbo]...," Ms Ensor said.
"Everyone just says they're inside, outside, in garages, everywhere."
In December Central West Local Land Services (LLS) mixed farming adviser Callen Thompson said mice had been identified throughout the region prior to harvest.
He said it was really important that people kept a keen eye on the rodent's numbers in the coming months.
Two weeks ago, Duncan McGinness Veterinary Surgeon said in a post to social media it had seen "high numbers of pets" that had been poisoned by bait recently and urged people to be vigilant, to be aware of symptoms and to contact a vet as soon as exposure had happened, or any symptoms were noticed.
