About 8.48am on Thursday Nyngan Highway Patrol officers spotted a Toyota Fortuner travelling at 140km/h in the 110km/h zone along the Barrier Highway.
Police allege as they approached the driver they witnessed the 28-year-old woman conceal a bowie knife from the dash of the vehicle.
The woman was also unable to produce her licence and allegedly provided police with a false name.
Officers were able to finally identify her and discovered that she was the holder of a NSW Provisional P2 licence that was suspended following a police pursuit in July 2020.
The driver was charged with excessive speed for a P2 driver, drive while suspended, stating a false name and the custody of a knife in a public place.
She will appear before Nyngan Local court at a later date.
