In 2016 rock and roll lovers across the city were heartbroken following the tragic death of Aussie rock icon Jon English, which led to the cancellation of the Trilogy of Rock show which had been set for Dubbo in February of that year.

But now, almost five years later, a 'slightly edited' version of the show, The Rock Show Oz Edition, is set to make a return to the Dubbo Regional Theatre in honour of the late Aussie icon as part of its 2021 tour.
English had originally planned the Trilogy of Rock show with co-producer Coralea Cameron but unfortunately passed away before the tour.
Cameron said English would be happy knowing the show was coming back to Dubbo, 'a slightly edited version of the show', as the city had always shown a great appreciation for rock culture.
"We brought all of our rock shows to Dubbo, including The Rock Show and Rock Revolution and they always sold out, sometimes two nights in a row," she said.
Cameron said The Rock Show Oz Edition is a slightly edited version of the Original Trilogy of Rock show she and English had planned and was put together in a bid to honour his memory.
"Jon never got to actually perform this show," she said.
"We had to cancel the upcoming tour in 2016 when he passed away, but after almost five years we're finally seeing it through in his honour."
The tour was initially set for 2020 but had to be postponed due to COVID-19.
"Jon was very much a 'the show must go on' type of person, he hated to cancel a show for any reason," she said.
"I like to think that even though we had to cancel the Trilogy of Rock show in Dubbo, he'd be pretty happy knowing that we're going back there now and seeing The Rock Show Oz Edition through his memory for his fans."
Cameron said on the plus side, with COVID-19 restrictions continuing to lift, the show will be bigger and better than ever.
The Rock Show Oz Edition, which consists of an eight-piece band, will play hit rock songs of the 60s, 70s and 80s for Aussie icons such as the Master's Apprentices, Billy Thorpe, Bee Gees, LRB, Skyhooks, Aussie Crawl, INXS, Angels, JPY, Cold Chisel, Air Supply, Divinyls, Russell Morris, Noiseworks, TMG, Stevie Wright, AC/DC, Peter Allen, Choirboys, Black Sorrows, Oils, and of course, Jon English, over a two-and-a-half-hour show.
The Rock Show Oz Edition will run at the Dubbo Regional Theatre on Friday, January 29, 2021, from 8 pm to 10 pm.
