Staff of Regional Gas launched Helium Balloon for Mitchell Ray on Monday to offer emotional and financial support to his family.
On the first day of the campaign, about 100 people turned out to the the business at 7 Douglas Mawson Drive with more than $1000 left behind in cash, including $500 and $100 anonymous donations.

Administration officer Shellie Gray was shopping for more balloons and string on Tuesday.
"Dubbo people can come in, grab a balloon and put it on their mailbox and let the family know we are thinking of them and Mitchell," she said.
The seven-year-old boy died in Sydney on Sunday after almost a year of treatment for stage-four metastatic neuroblastoma.
On Monday, he was returned to Dubbo by "funeral transport".
On Tuesday, the Ray family made it back to their West Dubbo home which received a makeover in the past month, courtesy of community members, businesses and the Rotary Club of Dubbo South.
