Mrs Mei said this year the Dubbo team has received it's highest number of requested hygiene packs, with 850 women in need of the support in the Dubbo area alone.

The drive ends this Sunday, however, they have so far only received 250 bags of the required 850.

"If we can't get more donated bags, we will have to split the 250 bags between 850 women, so we are hoping we can get at least a few more," Mrs Mei said.

Mrs Mei said this year they are collecting three types of bags, including a bag for mums, teenagers, and a 'mums and bubs bag.'

"We ask that all bags are complete if possible, and we do prefer unused products, however, we don't mind if the bag is used as long as it is in decent condition," she said.

"For an adult bag we are asking for shampoo, conditioner, deodorant, a toothbrush and toothpaste, and our main item is, of course, sanitary products.

"The teenage bags are pretty similar to the adult bags but we are asking for things that are a little bit more unique to younger minded girls, sanitary products that relate to a teenager and maybe something like lip gloss.

"With a mums and bubs bag we are asking for a little bit more, we are asking for nappies, cream for nappy rash, breast pads and baby wash as well as items for the mum."

Mrs Mei said the whole purpose of the Share the Dignity In the Bag Drive is to give women in need something over Christmas and to also help give women their dignity back.

"We look after women who have been through domestic violence, who are homeless, who struggle with poverty, and there are still women struggling from the bushfires and the drought."

Those wanting to contribute to the drive can find a list of the required items on the Share the Dignity website.

Bunnings will be accepting bags until Sunday afternoon.

The bags can be placed in a box that has been set up in the store's entrance. Mrs Mei said late donations will be accepted after Sunday by emailing her at symonehannam@hotmail.com due to the high demand.
