Ancestry at home extended
There's no better time to delve into your family history research, with free access to Ancestry Library Edition from home until December 31. Use your library card and password to explore the extensive collection of records on Ancestry including WWI pension records, birth and marriage certificates, UK census records, passenger lists, Australian electoral rolls and more.
To access Ancestry Library Edition from home:
- Visit the Macquarie Regional Library website: mrl.nsw.gov.au
- Login with your Borrower ID and password
- Click "Home" on the top left hand side of the screen
- Select Ancestry Library Edition from the My eLibrary 24/7 menu

Changes to library loans policy
The temporary changes to the Loans Policy made at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic has ended and these changes may affect your borrowing privileges.
From Monday 16 November 2020:
- The maximum number of items you can have on loan at any one time will return to 20 items.
- The maximum amount of fines you can have on your account and still borrow will return to $10. If your fines balance is over $10, you will need to reduce it below this amount in order to borrow items from November 16.
- All physical items will have a 3 week loan period, including DVDs and magazines.
- You may renew your loan twice, providing your item is not overdue or reserved by another library member.
