That belongs to November 23 of 2014, when 44.3 degrees was recorded in the city.
Nevertheless, residents are in store for a week of above-average maximum and minimum temperatures, which will be scorching at the weekend and on Monday.

The Bureau of Meteorology's (BoM) seven-day forecast for Dubbo as of Tuesday tells of the temperature reaching 31 degrees on Wednesday, 35 degrees on Thursday, 37 degrees on Friday, 39 degrees on Saturday, 43 degrees on Sunday and 39 degrees on Monday.
The days will be hot but so will the nights.
Minimum temperatures forecast from Wednesday to Monday are 13, 15, 19, 19, 25 and 21 degrees, respectively.
The average maximum and minimum temperatures in Dubbo during the month of November are 28.8 and 13.5 degrees.
November 22 of 2009 holds the 28-year record for the highest minimum temperature for the month.
On that night the temperature reached 27.1 degrees.
Rain is unlikely to offer a reprieve from the heat.
The BoM has forecast a five per cent chance of rain on Sunday and a 10 per cent chance on Monday.
On Tuesday morning, the BoM's website showed nine millimetres (mm) of rain had fallen in the city this month, albeit some data was missing.
Average rainfall in Dubbo during the month of November is 59mm.
